Have a healthy New Year’s holiday !

New Year’s Eve is a time when many people drink alcohol.

Even some folks who generally don’t care for alcoholic beverages make an exception on this occasion, raising a toast to the big change on the calendar.

But drinking is also an issue of health and safety. Your friends at Georgia Health News remind you that drinking alcoholic beverages should be done in moderation and is not for everyone. If consuming alcohol is not healthy for you — or if you are not legally able to drink it — you should avoid it on holidays as on every other day. Celebrate with a non-alcoholic beverage.

Just as in other years, there will be a heavy law enforcement presence on Georgia roads this New Year’s holiday. That’s a reminder to all of us not to drive under the influence of alcohol, not to drive while otherwise impaired, and not to drive recklessly. We want every Georgian to begin 2015 safely and with no regrets.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year !
