Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center staff are “being tested in previously unimaginable ways,” according to a Thursday statement from the hospital. The hospital declined to provide the number of COVID-19 patients at Piedmont Athens, but said the number is “fairly consistent” with the number of patients at hospitals statewide amid the pandemic.
