Lingering health problems after patients recover from COVID

Weeks after patients have seemingly recovered from COVID-19, some may experience lingering problems that range widely, doctors said. They see the need at AU Health System to have some kind of clinic for patients who have longer-term problems from a COVID-19 infection. The problem is knowing which doctors need to be part of it, said Chief Medical Officer Phillip Coule. “You’ve got pulmonology, cardiology, infectious disease, gastrointestinal, psychiatry,” he said. “That’s the whole health system. It is such a complex disease that that’s part of the challenge.”
