Athens-Clarke police found no violations of COVID-19 occupancy rules during 143 police inspections of downtown bars over the past two two weekends, according to Athens-Clarke County Manager Blaine Williams. Police issued 14 citations to individuals who refused to wear masks despite repeated urging by police the weekend of Aug. 30, and 13 last weekend, Williams told Athens-Clarke commissioners in a Tuesday meeting.
