The Rome City Commission adopted an emergency order Monday night requiring people to wear masks in public within the city limits, in a bid to stem the spike in local COVID-19 cases. The vote was 7-2 to approve with Commissioners Craig McDaniel and Jim Bojo opposed. Mayor Bill Collins and Commissioners Jamie Doss, Sundai Stevenson, Wendy Davis, Randy Quick, Bonny Askew and Mark Cochran were in favor.

    Thank you Craig McDaniel and Jim Bojo for standing up for the rights of the citizens/consumers. When given the choice between Tyranny and Freedom-ALWAYS choose Freedom. It is sad that so many well meaning people are led by emotions and not the facts.
    In just 4 months , the U.S. has been transformed into and obedient socialist country.
    The scariest part? People are not afraid of the government who removed their freedom. They’re afraid of their neighbors , family and friends. And they despise those who will not comply.
