Pace of new COVID-19 cases slows, state figures show

Georgia’s confirmed case count for COVID-19 rose by 2,837 since Wednesday to reach 106,727 on Thursday, while the statewide death toll rose by eight to reach 2,930, according to figures posted just before 3 p.m. by the Georgia Department of Public Health. From Tuesday to Wednesday, Georgia’s case count rose by 3,420 while 23 patients succumbed to the coronavirus.
