Northeast Georgia’s first school-based health clinic will be at the new Hilsman Elementary School, now under construction next to Gaines Elementary School on Athens’ east side. The clinic’s primary target will be students at Gaines Elementary, which has one of the school district’s highest poverty rates, and Hilsman Middle School, about 1,200 students together, many of whom have little access to health care.
