

Therapy dog comforts children in Augusta hospital

There is evidence the therapy dogs provide a tangible benefit. In a national study in 2017 of 105 kids at five children’s hospitals, with half receiving standard therapy and half receiving a visit from a therapy dog, the children who got dog visits has less treatment-related anxiety and performed better in school.
