New government dietary guidelines warn Americans to cut down their salt intake. The goal is for half of Americans to reduce their consumption of salt by more than half.  The target group includes people 51 and older, African-Americans, and those suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Many of the rest of Americans need to cut back as well — and eat less. Here’s the Associated Press story about the salt issue.
