54 school bus drivers in Savannah/Chatham stage sickout

Savannah-Chatham public school bus drivers staged a sickout Friday morning, leaving hundreds of bus-riding students without a ride to campuses. A district official reported 54 drivers “unexpectedly called out,” resulting in late arrivals to school. Typically, 218 drivers cover routes that transport more than 18,700 students.
