Nurse Practitioner Elissa Greene woke up in the middle of the night with an unusual ache in her upper arm Tuesday. She was thrilled. “Yeah, I was thinking if they just injected a little bit of saline, it probably wouldn’t do that,” Greene said. “So when I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore arm, I was like, ‘Yippee!’” Greene suspects her sore arm was a sign that she received a coronavirus vaccine and not a placebo on Monday when she was one of the first nationwide to participate in the third and last phase of the vaccine’s trial.
