Columbia County says water is safe to drink

There’s definitely something in the water in Columbia County. After receiving countless phone calls and emails and seeing several social media posts regarding the county’s water tasting and smelling badly, the county wants to assure its citizens the water is safe to drink and is due to a high amount of algae and cyanobacteria in the Thurmond Lake, one of the county’s sources for water.
