Doctors Hospital said Tuesday it has received state approval to build a freestanding emergency room in Columbia County. The 12-bed, 12,760-square-foot facility would be located at 464 North Belair Road in Evans, directly across the street from the Evans campus of University Hospital, which also has filed an application to build a freestanding emergency room.
