Georgia is among states experiencing a critical shortage of emergency medical personnel, a problem that raises the risk of harm for patients. While there are shortages of basic, intermediate and advanced medics, particularly scarce are paramedics, the ones with the advanced life support skills necessary to handle the most urgent calls.
