Pharmaceutical companies delivered nearly 40 million of the opioid pain pills oxycodone and hydrocodone to Clarke County pharmacies between 2007 and 2012, according to recently released federal data. That’s about 49 pills per person per year in Athens. Georgia received about 2.3 billion pills in the seven-year period.
