Kemp signs landlord retaliation protection bill

A bill filed by state Rep. Sharon Cooper that would prevent landlords from retaliating against tenants who report unsafe conditions or code violations has been signed into law. Under House Bill 346, if a tenant files a complaint regarding the health and safety of their living conditions, landlords are prohibited for three months from retaliating or evicting a tenant, according to a news release.
