In 2002 Georgia passed the Safe Haven law that allows mothers to drop off newborns at designated locations within a seven-day period from birth without the fear of being prosecuted. However, one Covington woman felt the law didn’t go far enough to make mothers aware of where they could safely leave an infant, and she worked to change that.
