Drug overdoses continue to occur in Rome and Floyd County as local leaders work to craft a response to the acknowledged opioid crisis. “It’s definitely a true epidemic,” Mayor Jamie Doss said. “This might be the No. 1 crisis in our country right now, because of the number of people who are dying and the fact that it’s not just in our community. It’s everywhere.”
