Dr. Baia Lasky, regional medical director of the American Red Cross of Georgia, reports the emergency assistance organization is experiencing its lowest post-summer blood and platelet inventory level in six years, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the region has less than a day’s supply of certain blood types.
