University Hospital faces ‘challenging’ year ahead from pandemic

University Hospital is planning to face the COVID-19 pandemic for much of the next year and the financial consequences from that, as officials fear a new surge has begun. University Hospital will have a “challenging budget” for next year as officials said Thursday that they expect the COVID-19 pandemic to continue through 2021. But even now, there could be a new surge in COVID-19 cases starting in the Augusta area, CEO Jim Davis warned.
