In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson declared a local state of emergency on Thursday, March 19, which mandates several business closures and restrictions in addition to implementing other measures to limit gatherings, taking effect at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
